Poppy

One of the visitors to the cottage in Hawkshead has written this on a bit of the dry stone slate wall beside the front gate at the holiday cottage.
I did think it a bit cheeky even though I think it looks lovely but Garth said the same people must have booked it a few times as before this they hand left small painted tiles in the garden & Garth put them on the wall so they must think none if the family objected.
It is cute, but I agree, asking permission first is the most polite thing to do

Yes, a bit cheeky, and quite a visible colour too!

Cheeky , and could become a start of a trend - making it rather unsightly !

If one person can do this - others will follow and as Beryl @beryl says it would become untidy!

@maggiemae It’s OK maggie it’s inside the garden so only residents can see it. I think they quite like it.

@phil_howcroft Me too, I like it!

I like it. Will be fun to see how it looks the next time you are there. I agree that future tenants will want to write their names.

Nice but a bit too cheeky!

Looks cute but not sure I’d appreciate it on my property!

I quite like it but hope it doesn't become a trend

It's certainly bright!

I think it's lovely, but would worry about the future 'signatures' which might not be so lovely.

It’s lovely 💕

I don't think I would have been happy. Future visitors renting the cottage will think it's ok to paint on the stones. Perhaps I'm just a grumpy old woman 😂.
