A Gulp Of Cormorants ~ by happysnaps

A Gulp Of Cormorants ~

drying their wings!
We often see up to 16 or more at a time..

Mr Google tells me..
Names for collective groups of animals or birds are thought to date from
The Book of Saint Alban’s, published in 1486 by Dame Juliana Berners.
here many of the collective nouns were chosen simply for the humorous images they conjure up, or the alliteration.
