Huddleston is right behind the ladies

Bedford held a Peace Rally this afternoon and my challenge was to get today's picture from this event. I find crowds really difficult - they don't seem to arrange themselves in very aesthetic groupings. I did see these three ladies and for some reason they amused me so I grabbed a quick shot. Flowers were being distributed amongst the crowd and there was a happy family atmosphere whilst several organisations and representatives made speeches.

In the background you see Bedford man, Trevor Huddlesdon joining in the rally. He is right behind the ladies, and as a campaigner himself for anti-apartheid in South Africa I thought it most appropriate. The bust which you see was unveiled by Nelson Mandela on a visit to the town in 2000 - they were close friends.
I like your processing. I also like how they arranged themselves in order of shortest to tallest.

Nice shot, tells a story. How good of Trevor Huddlesdon to photobomb the photo.

There is a lot of harmony in this shot I think - this is lovely Helen. I love your narrative as always: I too find the charming little ladies amusing :) they are sweet.

Yes, quite amusing! I'm sure it would be interesting to have tea with these three ladies. Wonderful composition and narrative, Helen! :-)

Isn't interesting how once you have grey hair, you are a "sweet little old lady". I bet they have a combined wisdom that would shock the socks off many young people.

@ethelperry Ethel you are quite right - that is probably why they were there in the first place! And let me be clear - my hair is 100 per cent grey. I think my amusement came from the differing heights, matching attire and Trevor being right behind them looking in the same direction.

Interesting photo...well captured

Ooops! I was so taken with the three ladies, I didn't see the background much, and obviously did not read the last paragraph of your text. I like the POV of diagonal line of the ladies. I could swear the front two are twins or at least, sisters.

Great candid shot, especially with the statue head in the background, Fav

@onewing it was indeed very obliging. If I had dared risk another, I would have tried to get him a little more prominent.

@kerosene thank you Caroline. I am so glad that my narravites capture some interest sometimes as well as the photos. your comment much appreciated, as always.

@gaylewood Thank you Gayle. Yes, afternoon tea would be interesting. I spoke to someone from the gathering that I had never met before and we chatted all the way home which was lovely. I am so glad that you enjoy all the blurb as well as the photos - so kind of you to say so.

@chipsngravy @ivan @ziggy77 thank you very much for your comments. I lack confidence with these kinds of photos.

@dizzyd thank you Helen. Trevor was, indeed a bonus, and an important part of the story of the picture.

@marshwader yes - I like the comparison. They were certainly ladies full of character.

The three ladies seem to be looking in different directions which makes one wonder what is going on. I have the same trouble with crowds; they keep moving.
