.. and so do I. Not for the Autumn scenes, but for my 'summer' holiday which will finally arrive in 10 days time. The varifocals are on order so that I can see what I am doing with my camera on my travels. My husband and I are venturing to Cambodia for a couple of weeks.
I had hoped to go out and get some spectacular shot for number 365 but the very reason that I am reluctantly taking a break has prevented me from going out with my camera today. There are currently too many pulls on my time.
Over the year (and a month) I have learned to take my camera wherever I go; I have switched from automatic to manual settings as my default position; I have discovered the strengths and weaknesses of my camera, I have learned how to enhance my photographs through editing; I have viewed some incredible photographs taken by you; I have braved a few competitions; I have learned more about the world and become more inquisitive; increased my observation skills and most of all I have discovered what a supportive, positive and interesting community this is.
This is Au revoir. I will keep an eye on 365 as and when I have time, and come back when things have calmed down a bit to start year 2. It may just be until after my holiday, or it may be after December which is a month that always has increased pressures. We will see.

I have really enjoyed all your comments and stories and do hope that you get back soon. Hopefully we will get to see some of your photos from Cambodia at some point. Congratulations for completing your year.

Congratulations on completing your year here. I was excited to hear you were going to Cambodia for a holiday and thought 'oh Helen, will take some beautiful shots' and then a bit disappointed that maybe you are saying goodbye ... I hope it is only a short break as I have enjoyed your photos and your wonderful writing as well. But I do understand your reasons for taking a well earned break but hopefully you will return. Have a great and safe holiday.

Oh Helen. I'm so sorry I've missed your departure on your wonderful adventure, as well as your 365th shot the day you posted. This is a wonderful shot, I love the light and that chestnut is so perfect and almost painterly... This is a lovely last shot. I wish you a WONDERFUL trip, how lucky you are! I am hoping you'll share a shot or a few upon your return... But regardless it's been a pleasure following you, I'm only sorry I haven't been around much this month.
