Morning mist on the lake by helenhall

Morning mist on the lake

Already it is Thursday and the camera appears to be having a quiet week. After taking so many photos at the weekend and the time needed to sort and process them, I wanted to focus on sharing more of these for a little longer. I haven't actually left the house this week yet.

So here I take you back to Saturday morning when I left the house very early and arrived at the lake at sunrise. As I walked further on around the lake, I saw the mist layer rising from the lake - but it was difficult to capture somehow.
Beautiful light and mood. fav

Wow this is just beautiful.

I think you caught the mist just right. Just enough to be of interest but not enough to block the view. I will be glad when the hides are open again though

Lovely lighting and composition. Fav!! 😀

This is so beautiful! I think the trick with mist is to treat it like moving water- a tripod and a slower shutter speed. But that's just a guess as I've not had a lot of opportunity to shoot it. fav!

You've captured that magical quiet time (my goodness, what time were you up?) and I can just make out the rising mist. Gorgeous light too.

@olivetreeann you are probably right - only I don't have either of those options open to me on my walk. I do have access to a tripod, but a max 4 secs on the camera.

You should be very happy with this shot Helen. It's lovely! Take a medal for rising so early in the day to get it. Fav
