The thing about the countryside around where I live, is that the beauty has to be sought out. There is nothing by way of drama in the landscape - no breathtaking views or vistas.
And so, it is the detail I focus on. But in this instance, I wasn't sufficiently happy with the focus on the backlit fern here, and before long I had overlayed it with patterns from the inside of a foxglove and ended up with this.
I'm not sure I like it, but I am posting anyway.
Today, it being the first day of my semi-retirement (my husband and I have just reduced our working hours to just two days a week), we went out walking. We managed the first 81/2 miles along the Greensand Ridge walk but the post viral fatigue did make it somewhat of a trudge for me by the end. An enjoyable walk although there wasn't a lot that made me want to get the camera out.
It was lovely to get so many lovely comments on my post yesterday. You are all very kind. Thank you.
It's really eye-popping. I understand the challenges of finding something interesting to shoot. Sometimes I feel as if there's nothing new to see in my backyard when I've already taken hundreds of pictures of all the stuff out there! Good idea to bring out the patterns and design of this leaf.
