When our son moved into his new house a couple of months ago he had never had a garden before. The grass was long and we doubted a lawnmower would cope with it so we took him to buy a strimmer and a lawn mower.
Fast forward to this weekend and we were asked to visit and help him with the garden. Due to his medical conditions he struggles with all tasks requiring manual dexterity and had been nervous about using this equipment.
We arrived to a garden over grown with bind weed! It was even growing up the legs of the garden table and chairs, and through the middle of paving slabs.
Suffice to say, the lawn mower and the strimmer were no use at all.
A hot day made for exhausting work! We could at least see the shape of the garden by the end, and the very unhappy state of the fences and walls. It is going to be a big project.
