At last! The sight so many travelers stranded all over the world have been longing to see for the last few days; the view from inside an aeroplane! And no sign of volcanic ash! Here we are leaving from Kuala Lumpur, where we were stuck for five days on our return from Thailand; it was not a great hardship in reality as it is a great city and we were in a very nice hotel - but frustrating when you think you're on the way home and don't know when you will get there! There was a party atmosphere on the 13-hour flight - with a lot of backpackers from all over the world who'd been camped out in the airport for days fortifying themselves with whiskey and song, combined with a large contingent of Formula One staff who'd been stuck there since the Malaysian Grand Prix; all the alcoholic drinks on the plane had been sold within the first two hours! Thank you to everyone who asked where/how I was when I suddenly stopped posting - I now have a backlog of pictures of Thailand and KL to fill in over the next few days...all taken on my iphone because...well, that's a story for another day!
Oh, Helen, we're so glad you're on your way home and with *The Best* picture to illustrate your flight! Might there be another book in the works?! I'm sure you could tell tales! We await all you have to share and can't wait to pour over your pictures!
Yay there! Phew, bet it's nice to be home at last. Great photo, no volcanic ash in sight, but then it is invisible (I think)....anyway you probably won't want to be thinking about all that, just glad you all back safe and sound!!
Wohay at last! Thanks for letting us into your adventure which has caught the media attention for a while now. I can imagine the party atmosphere on the way home or whilst waiting. I look forward to seeing your pics.
