It's blossom-tastic everywhere now. Apple, cherry, blackthorn, hawthorn, bramble....And the ground is covered with petals. This morning I had an Artistic Moment when I was walking the dogs and decided to capture a picture of the petals blowing down from the hedgerows like confetti in the gentle breeze. That was the theory! The breeze promptly dropped and I had to stand under a lot of trees, shaking branches and trying to capture the results. What I didn't realise until I got home was that my hair was covered in blossom petals, as if I'd got a case of terminal dandruff. The three other dog-walkers I'd chatted to on my way home had clearly been too polite to mention this sad affliction! But I'm glad I took this picture today because it started to rain this afternoon and looks like it could be set in for a while.
We have to suffer for our art dahling! Bet they were trying not to mutter 'Head and Shoulders' under their breath (the other dog walkers I mean).
Anyway I think you achieved the desired effect even if it did involve a little helping hand, shaking the tree of opportunity produces photo opportunity say Confucious!
nice shots...made me laugh as i had a picture in my head of you madly shaking trees then dashing out to get the shot!! pretty stuff...as for the dandruff that's a new excuse...".er no its Apple blossom!!" ha ha
Ahhh Helen, this is such a gorgeous collage! I find it so amusing the things we do to capture what we envision for our shot to be. Thank you so much for sharing your story. Loved it! :)
How funny, Helen. What we won't do for the sake of a picture! I love your description and can just picture you shaking those trees. There isn't much that equals the beauty of a ground covered in freshly-dropped blossoms from Spring trees. Your collage is jsut beautiful.
I like the mental image of you out there shaking the trees and trying to snap a shot at the same time! The collage is beautiful, and I thought at first glance that the petals were water droplets.
