Wildlife Photography

I don't have the patience (or the skill) to take lovely wildlife pictures like some of the amazing photographers on this site - but if you look closely at this shot from our walk yesterday you will glimpse a rare sighting of a Lesser Grey-Hoodied Boy running through the long dry grass, displaying his characteristic exuberant behaviour.

About two hours after I took this picture, there was an incident involving his big toe, his brother and a slide tackle during a football kickabout with friends on the rec. He is now hobbling around in pain today The toe has swollen and turned purple. I didn't think anyone would want to see a photo of that, so put this "before" shot on instead.

I hope the toe's not broken. If no less swollen tomorrow, it'll mean a trip to the doctor. Still, it means a quiet week on the taxi-front for me, as one tennis lesson, two football practises and one drum lesson are off the agenda....
Sorry to hear about the accident. This photo is really fantastic...the way it is divided, the subtle flowers and the human element...really great!

What a great photo, you've done a great job of catching one of these outside...they usually stay inside within close proximity to video games.

Those Lesser Grey-Hoodied Boys are jolly hard to find and shot (with a camera!) so well done. Sorry about the toe, but no taxi runs - silver lining!

Does he use his feet to play the drums?

@blightygal skipping the drum lesson does sound a bit weird, I know! But it's the big toe of his right foot so bass drum pedal is an issue - as we found out yesterday when I "forced" him to go to band practise just after the accident - I think that may be why it's swollen up so much - bad parenting on my part!
