5th November is Bonfire Night, aka Guy Fawkes Night in England. I'm not sure how many remember (or would even want to remember )the historical events behind it but it is lovely to get together around a bonfire on a rainy November night and watch the fireworks. We went to the show at our local pub and it was great to have a good chat with friends at the end of a very intense writing week. I wanted to get one of those beautiful clear firework shots, but I didn't have the patience to put down either my umbrella, my toffee apple or my pint of Guinness, so it was all a bit hit and miss. I did some editing on this to make it more pretty and pink.
Helen THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS - a CRACKING photo. I was sooooo frustrated tonight that I didn't have my camera (being mended). The local deputy mayor is part anarchist, which came through tonight with the bonfire night he put on for the town - MAD fireworks only just this side of legal. GORGEOUS boomers, sent up in close succession so it was a very intense experience and the most beautiful I've experienced - vast arc-showers of sparkles. The guys setting them off were having an absolute riot ...and so were we. Glad you captured it so beautifully. A very English night! And it always rains!
Too windy here for fireworks this year, so thanks for sharing. We let off about 5! Was still fun, had an American B&B staying so some effort was needed.
I love all the squiggly lines. whatever you did, it is a beautiful shot. Sounds like a fun time, and sometimes you just have to enjoy it and forget about the pictures.
@miranda thanks for your nice comment - sounds like your firework display was a lot more spectacular than ours which was really quire modest and very damp!
