...raises money for East Anglia Children's Hospices.
I cycled into Cambridge early this morning to buy a cricket-related birthday present; Will was off to a surfing birthday party this afternoon and his friend, Cameron, is mad on cricket...
Crossing the market square I came across a small crowd all gazing up at the walls of the Guildhall. There was a sponsored abseil going on in aid of a local childrens' hospice. It looked so much fun, and I was fuming all the way home. I'd seen it advertised in the local paper and had been meaning to sign myself and the boys up to do it, and I hadn't got round to it. I really wish I had - walking backwards off a building - what could be better? And for such a good cause too.
@judithg I don't know what happened there! I think I accidentally hit return and sent it off before I was ready - I've never knowingly not had anything to say before!
I have a newspaper photo of Nigel aged about 15 doing a sponsored abseil - in the newspaper they printed a second photo to hide the fact that a lamp post appeared to be disappearing in a rather painful place - pre-digital editing!!
I'm walking backwards to ... well I thought it was Christmas, but this does look more fun and for a good cause aswell. I'm sure if you were to let them know you were interested they would arrange another venture!!
