I cycled into town today to work in the library and avoid the distractions of home - the boys are still off school for Easter. It wasn't the smartest plan I've ever come up with, since the whole of Cambridge has morphed into a holiday park in the glorious Spring sunshine. It's all ice cream and punting and skimpy shorts. Valiantly I did manage to put in a few hours before giving into the sunshine and going for a stroll and an ice cream.
As part of my get-some-work-done plan, I didn't take a camera with me - so to avoid the temptation to fritter away those precious work-hours by wandering around taking photos. Devious, eh? So I had to use my phone instead! I couldn't resist taking a picture of the clock at Sidney Sussex College, which so perfectly matched the blue of the sky. And then, by a stroke of good fortune, this kind man cycled by, sporting his lovely purple t-shirt, co-ordinating beautifully with the lilac tones of the wisteria. If only he'd been wearing red pants instead of grey, to pick out the red of that bike frame against the wall, but I guess that'd be asking too much!
Stunning coordination, I do envy you your fantastic architecture ! There is a wonderful photo in the Daily Mail today showing the wisteria on Magdalene College walls. I thought of you lucky ones in that city & here you are !
@happypat That's it - I'm out on wisteria hunt tomorrow - bet the Daily Mail man didn't have a dog in tow...if I can't get a good shot there you'll be getting this from an inferior angle - it's is a great view with the clock central and purple man...
