This afternoon the village school was holding a Mad Hatter's Tea Party in the grounds to raise funds. I only popped in for a few minutes but it was a lovely scene, with tea tables set up under the trees, stalls, bunting, country dancing...and a Alice in Wonderland themed fancy dress competition and decorate-your-bike competition.
It was mostly for children, but this brave Mum also entered in a glorious Mad Hatter outfit. I wondered whether she happened to have that coat and hat in her wardrobe, or did she sew them specially for the occasion? If I'd known in advance they were having this competition, I'd have whipped up a dormouse-in-a-teapot costume, of course!
Yeah Helen - bet the boys were really disappointed you didn't dress up. My theory is that this lady happened to have this costume and it was her idea for the theme!! I love a nice fete - the school ones were never the same after a PTA chair banned having a theme. 'Wild West' was my all time favourite!!
She looks great & has obviously thrown herself into the spirit of it all with a vengeance ! I love the flowers in her basket , seems to be minding someone else's bike too !
