This evening I dressed up in my party frock and took the train to London for a party organised by my publisher for their children's books department. The party was held at a small art gallery near Queens Square and was lovely - although the welcoming committee was a little unsettling - a ring of these guys surrounded a pile of bones. I didn't have chance to find out who the artist was - too busy having a nice time - most of all, meeting Leo Hartas, the illustrator who has done such a brilliant job for my books for the first time was a real treat.
These are a bit weird but very clever ! It must have been quite a moment meeting up with your illustrator for the first time when he'd had such an input in your books !
@happypat@suelbiz47 Thank you - yes it was lovely to meet him - he's really brought the characters to life - the first two books are will be out next week so I will be posting some shots of them - and the illustrations too...
Interesting, but loving the shadow in this shot. Sounds like a great evening and hard to imagine just meeting someone who's put your ideas into pictures for the first time.
I like this shot - they've obviously let their hair down! Nice to meet each other when you were so pleased with the job he's done. Exciting times ahead - I'll be in Waterstones making sure they're prominently displayed!
