Is the the old leather armchair in front of the woodburner in the kitchen. It's dangerous, though, as once you sit in it, it's hard to get up again, especially as it's fully equipped with comfy cushions and a great reading lamp . . . and the kettle is only a few steps away! After a short school visit this morning, the snow started coming down and the armchair began to call to me!

1. My favourite question from my school visit to a class of 10 year olds today. "who is the most prolific author you have met?" Turned out he actually meant famous, not prolific. This led to some interesting discussion of quantity vs quality!
2. The lovely man at the feed store. I called in on the way home from my school visit for a couple of sacks of layers' pellets for the hens. As I opened the car door for him to heft the sacks into the back, my bag of school visit props toppled over, and he barely batted an eyelid when a large and ferocious-looking dinosaur skull fell out and cracked its jaw on the tarmac Don't worry, no dinosaurs were harmed in the making of the scene - the skull is made of resin and came from an aquarium supply shop.
3. Boys playing roulette with shot glasses of soy sauce! Don't ask!
