Wait For Me! by helenmoss

Wait For Me!

Storm so wanted to go sledging with the boys but they banished him because he barks at the sledge and lunges as it goes past and generally cramps their style. So he had to come home with me instead.

This was taken in the snow on Sunday, not today, but I spent today at my desk getting materials ready and then driving to the other side of London to stay the night in preparation for an all day school visit with an early start tomorrow. In all the busying about I forgot about taking photographs. And a snowy picture seems right for the day because I became hopelessly lost driving around the uncharted back lanes of Surrey in an unforecast snow blizzard searching for an unmapped hotel. Eventually, at around 7pm, I gave up and phoned the nearest Premier Inn and booked a room there instead. Turns out that I should have stayed on the M25, as the original hotel was actually in the service station - and not several miles away near Cobham as suggested by its postcode and Google maps. But eventually, after several more detours, I found the Premier Inn and could not have been more relieved if I had just found the North West Passage after months of wandering the frozen wastelands of the Arctic circle, surviving on nothing but lichen and boiled boot leather.

1. Lenny Henry is right, The Premier Inn really does have very comfy beds.
2. Having found shelter, I didn't have to go back out again in search of food as there was a pub next door, serving food. One glass of wine and a plate of fish and chips (and a very interesting conversation about a classic car convention to eavesdrop on at the next table) and things were looking up!
3. Stopping off in Cobham for a coffee (before I realised I was going to get lost and thinking I had plenty of time for a bit of a side-trip) I spotted a red tartan skirt in the window of the Oxfam shop. One impulse purchase later and I had the makings of my Burns Night outfit for Friday! It was all going so well at this point!
Poor Storm dos't look happy about the situation , with his tail between his legs LOL
