Only six months late filling in photos from our trip to China! Xi'an in early March can be a little chilly and grey, but it is still a spectacular and amazing place. You really need several weeks, but we had to squeeze everything into a five day research trip. Here I am sizing up the Big Wild Goose Pagoda and deciding whether to climb to the top (we did!). This landmark didn't find its way into the book in the end, but lots of others did.
