Dry Stream Bed by hjbenson

Dry Stream Bed

This stream normally has over 5" (13 cm) of water in it.Only once before since the '70s have I seen it this dry. They are predicting some thunder storms for the begining of August which would help.
Hopefully that rain reaches you.

I hate it when there is just a drought that all the streams dry up. We have a creek like that on our property. I'm hoping for rain too.

Rain In Summer

by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

How beautiful is the rain!
After the dust and heat,
In the broad and fiery street,
In the narrow lane,
How beautiful is the rain!
How it clatters along the roofs,
Like the tramp of hoofs!

How it gushes and struggles out
From the throat of the over-flowing spout!
Across the window pane
It pours and pours;
And swift and side,
With a muddy tide,
Like a river down the gutter roars
The rain, the welcome rain!
