My Get Pushed challenge for this week is to take B&W abstracts, which is something I don't do much. I'm a color-loving kind of gal! LOL! Took this one by accident at my son's football game yesterday after my camera touched the railing around the bleachers, got something on the lens and wouldn't focus. But, I kind of like it! Although I think I like it in color better.
@archaeofrog Thanks. I tend to concentrate on color and sharp focus. The focus from working as a newspaper photographer and color just because I love color. So, b&w abstract is definitely a challenge for me.
I think working with b/w on occasion actually helps you to do color better and vice versa. And recently I was reading and then heard another photographer say that taking a shot in color and then converting it to b/w is better than just shooting straight b/w. I don't know about that- I haven't proven it one way or another, but I must say in the case of your abstract I like the color version better too. Both are good though- so keep experimenting from time to time.
@darylo Wow, thanks! @jo13 I prefer color as well, although I started out as a newspaper photographer shooting only B&W film and developing it, so I like B&W,.....I just like color a lot better. @olivetreeann My current camera doesn't have a B&W option, so converting is all I can do.
