Some of our favorites of the houses we looked at yesterday. We looked at 10, so we are having a little issue keeping them separate. I know the cool steps belongs to the yard with the deck in the middle. I think the kitchen belongs to one of the houses shown, but I'm not quite sure which one. The awesome lakes and trees belonged to a house on a wooded lot in a gated community - beautiful area, horribly outdated house. We liked the house with the steps and one of the other two shown that had lots off hidden storage areas (I think it's the one on the left, but not totally sure! LOL!). Either way, we will have a second look at a few of our favorites and pick one by Wednesday. Nothing like "drive by" house buying, seeing 10 houses in 4 hours.
@quietpurplehaze We are only in town for 4 days, and we move here in early June. So, it kind of has to be a quick decision. The hardest part is keeping the houses straight in our heads, even with my pictures! LOL!
@ceilidh Thanks! @lynnilou Thanks. We loved the lake community too. The area was gorgeous (a gated community), but the house was strange and outdated. Too bad.
Hard to choose so quickly! After having moved into a community here- I'd say to not go that route. The dues just aren't worth it! But sounds like that house is out of the running anyway. I'd say make sure you check out the school system- but you homeschool! I'm sure the Lord will help give you clarity to make the right decision. In the meantime, judging from the collage- you have a lot of good options to pick from!
Looks like you have some good choices! (I've only shopped for a house once and it was a lot of work! We think we will "stay put" and never move again.) Good luck on your house hunt and your collage looks great!
@judithg We have moved three times in three years. We could fix up the house, but we would have to redo the whole house. It wouldn't be ready for us to move into in June.
@kathysview They all start blending together after about the 4th house. You remember one by the steps, another by the creative storage spaces,.... @willowdragon Thanks! @pamknowler It probably won't be our dream home, but it will work for 3-4 years, if we are lucky enough to stay in North Carolina that long. @olivetreeann Not having to worry about the schools makes it a little easier. Mostly we are concerned with how away it is from Ft. Bragg. We don't want to be too close because the area isn't that great, but we don't want to be an hour away either. @linnypinny Thanks! @digitalrn We are used to it, I guess. At least we have options. When we moved to Boston area last summer, my husband almost ended up moving alone because we couldn't find a house for 5 to rent. We were 2 weeks away from cancelling the movers when we found the house we are living in for this year. That was pressure. We had 4 or 5 options that we could live with if we had too, and 3 that are great options. So, compared to our last move this one is fun! LOL! @paulam Thanks! One of the drawbacks of military life. We already own 2 houses and rent them out, and have rented a house this past year knowing \we'd only be there 11 months. Unpacking is the hard work. At least the Army sends in packers to pack you up and move all your stuff. They just don't unpack it.
@swilde True, we are getting more organized with each move. Unfortunately, since we were only in NH 11 months, we didn't unpack all of our stuff, so that has left us a little disorganized this time. @susale Thanks!
Is it the house on the right or the left? The house on the left looks a little bigger in the picture. The are both beautiful. Best of luck in getting the one you want.
@mittens The house on the left was already sold by the time we took my husband back to look at it, but we got to go through an identical house down the street to show him. We decided it was too small. House on the right had great storage but a tiny living room, so we decided it was too small. We took the one in the middle with the wooden/carpeted steps (outside isn't shown). It was the biggest and cheapest (and the furthest from where my husband will work). She accepted the offer, so we should finalize in early June. @lafish@silverhorn Thanks!

@tonygig @leananiemand @mittens @susale @swilde @paulam @digitalrn @linnypinny @olivetreeann @pamknowler @willowdragon @kathysview @judithg @lynnilou @ceilidh @quietpurplehaze Well, we chose the bigger house that was built in 2005 (the steps and backyard with deck from the collage). It seemed to be the best space for our family and our stuff. We compromised on the kitchen and upgrading to granite counters and more lighting (it currently only has on fluorescent light over the island). Course, this is all contingent on her acceptance of our offer. Should know by tomorrow!
@lafish @silverhorn Thanks!
