When we came back from vacation Wednesday, the magnolia trees were starting to bloom. Within a week, they should be covered in big blossoms. As you can tell how big they are, the bottom right picture is of a magnolia blossom petal that is bigger than my hand. I think it fell off the blossom just to the left of it, as it seem to be missing a petal and they are the same color petals.
@amandal Thanks! @therubysusan I don't remember seeing any magnolias in southern IL when we lived there. There weren't many trees in our area at all. I think these are messing with my allergies, though.
You don't see them out in the woods, but when people plant them in their yards, they live. The fragrance doesn't seem as strong, though, as it is further south. My sympathies on the allergies - it's bad enough up here!
Hello Lisa, thank you for the challenge. I found it quite hard to think of a challenge for you since you've done so many already. So since your profile said you're christian I want you to try and make a photo showing one (or more) of the seven deadly sins. Good luck!

@francoise @susanalena @bkbinthecity @randystreat @wenbow Thanks!
@eyeamlisa I'm loving all of the flowering trees in the South.
