My Get Pushed challenge this week is to photograph thankful. Well, this definitely wasn't planned, but I'm very thankful my daughter is OK. She had three seizures yesterday afternoon. It was very scary. We had just arrived a local college to pick up my son from football camp. We weren't there 5 minutes when she screamed and fell backward. The coaches and other parents were very helpful. They called the ambulance and helped her as much as possible. She was very confused for about a half hour after. The ambulance crew didn't take her to the hospital because she said no. I took her to an urgent care across the street. They recommended the express care down the street. My husband arrived and rushed her there. They weren't equipped to help her either but wanted to check her out first. As soon as they took her back to the room she had another seizure. They gave her anti seizure meds and called the ambulance to take her to the big hospital. After they got her in the emergency room she had another seizure. They gave her another med and it finally stopped them. All this took less than 3 hours. They ruled out all the really bad causes that night. Said it was epilepsy which will probably be controlled easily with meds. But I'm thankful she was not driving home from helping at church like she usually is on Fridays at that time, or home alone. Her muscles are sore and she's bored and wants to go home, but doing well. Friday was a very long day.
Glad to hear that your daughter will be okay. Very scary for all of you. I hope that she will be okay and that the meds will be able to keep the seizures under control.
Very scary. Melody totally understands this as she used to have epilepsy. She used to be on meds. Her family kept praying and believing that she would be healed. Her last seizure was when she was 15, today she is 51, and she went off of her medd when she was 18
Lisa, please forgive the lateness of this get pushed challenge. It seems you have done almost every challenge imaginable (exaggeration, I know, but difficult to see what would be a real challenge for you.)
I don't want to give you a challenge that is too elaborate or time-consuming. You have been dealing with your daughter's health crisis; I'm glad to see she is on the upswing. That really must have been scary if she had not had a seizure before and then had 3 -- one right after another. My son occasionally has seizures, but they are usually controlled by medication.
So...here is your get pushed challenge. Push your "flashback" link and see which of your previous images you get. I don't want you to try to re-make it or duplicate it (You've already had that challenge). Instead do a little free association as you look at it. What does it bring to mind? Make a picture inspired by whatever the other photo makes you think of. Even loosely based on that is OK. But explain the connection if you can. How does that sound?
Oh gosh. I saw the little picture and clicked on it hoping all would be well. I'm so sorry that this happened, and indeed she is (you all are!) very lucky she wasn't driving or alone!! I hope that meds will be able to get things under control. Best of health to her!!
