Longarm Quilting by homeschoolmom

Longarm Quilting

I spent much of today learning to use a longarm quilting machine. It's a huge machine, about 13 feet long, with a floating arm to help you quilt large quilts. There were four of us in our class and we took turn, two at a time, learning to do the use the machine (except for the bottom center, we each did a row of the pattern using a different technique than the other pics).
How interesting to see. Is this a machine that you have purchased or are you able to rent the use of one. The patterns are beautiful.

@featherstone26 has one of these. They make quilting so much easier than by hand or trying to do it with a regular machine.

Nice work! They are a little scary at first, but fun!

Very impressive. I could see how it would be handy if you do lots of quilting

@randystreat These are at a quilt shop to rent, as they are very expensive and very large to have at home. But now that I know how to use it, I can use it to quilt my next project instead of doing it by hand.

@featherstone26 It was harder than I thought. I didn't realize that you had to guide the machine. I just thought you set it up and it did all the work. Nope! LOL!

@homeschoolmom If I paid another $4K, I could have the computer-guided system, but mine is me-guided.
