212 - A rather wet outing to Morecambe today, with very little opportunity for any photos.
These large boulders with sculptures of cormorants are on a traffic island on the sea front.
Morecambe Bay is a very significant site for all kinds of sea birds, and Morecambe itself has capitalised on this with a fascinating array of bird sculptures along the sea front.
On a nicer day, well worth a walk - but not today!
I like it - they remind me somewhat of the birds from the Noggin the nog cartoons! I hope the weather-related craziness is calming down for you guys now :)
Thank you Katharine - the floods are well down in York, but the rain continues intermittently here in Lancaster. The forecast for Saturday in Lancaster is good, but sadly I will be on a train back to York then!
Thank you Anna - there are a fascinating selection of sculptures of birds in this area!

Thank you Bob - this was a brief interlude between very heavy rain showers!
Thank you Jen - the darkness was a brief break between showers!
Thank you Ruth - I was impressed with this traffic island as well!
Thank you Christine - but I prefer it in the sunshine!
Thank you Caren, glad you like it!
Thank you Brian - it's one of a number of bird related sculptures, but sadly the weather prevented any more shots!
Thank you Bobbyj, glad you like it!
Thank you Pyrrhula - I really like the bird sculptures in Morecambe, but sadly the weather stopped me getting any more shots!
Thank you Tanja - no choice in the sky colour, all Morecambe would offer me was various shades of grey!
The caption was "The Mothers' Union go to Morecambe"!
Thank you Janet, they do look quite life like! I'm not sure they would settle in the middle of a traffic island if they were real though!
Than you David - they seem very popular with visitors. I have a shot from a previous visit with a blue sky as the backdrop!
