Early Signs of Spring by if1

Early Signs of Spring

309 - I needed to go to one of the shops on Clifton Moor before lunch, so I thought it would be a good opportunity to get shots of some of the early signs of spring. That turned out to be easier said than done, since workmen had been cutting back the bushes and trees along the paths. Eventually I found the buds in this shot.

Very mild temperatures make it feel more like early spring, with a temperature of 11 degrees centigrade today. Sadly, this won't last, with a promise of a return to temperatures little above freezing by Thursday - I hope the buds haven't appeared too early!
I like this shot - great focus and DOF. I'm also worried that things may have thought Spring had come early.

Lovely to see the new growth. It's been a bit chillier up here today and forecast to get colder. This happened last year and those early buds were frozen off
