Decaying Snow by if1

Decaying Snow

325 - The snow is finally disappearing, with just small patches of ice and water droplets left. We are promised another fall of snow tomorrow evening, before a rise in temperature over the weekend should see it all disappear.

It's nice to see the snow, and inspires some interesting shots - but I'm ready for a change, and a rise in temperature in a few days will be more than welcome!
Cool shot!

This works well. I'll be glad to see the back of it too. I've just watched a car outside the front of my house turn in a complete circle on the ice.

Good spot and a good capture with those patterns. Still lying quite thick around here.

You could turn the photo round - then you'd have the UK in ice crystals!

Nice to hear from each one of you - it's so encouraging to receive your feedback. I think we are pretty much agreed that it would be nice to see the end of the snow now. Our forecast was for more snow to appear from mid afternoon today, but despite a few flakes when I was in the centre of York at lunchtime, so far it hasn't got started, which is good news. I think it's time for a change from snow shots!

That's how it looks here too, just patches of decaying snow and mud. I would love for spring to get here but wouldn't mind one more snowfall with some big snowflakes =)

Nicely captured Ian and a great way to see off the snow shots.

Thank you all for you kind thoughts comments.

Sadly, last night brought heavy snowfall again, but the temperature rose this morning and we have a serious risk of flooding in the York area (again!). But at least the grass should be visible again by tomorrow.
