338 - Another day of poor weather. By the time I was ready to go out we had heavy sleet, so another shot taken at home. My wife Katharine has made a number of tapestries. This one was made a long time ago and until recently was hidden away, since we don't have enough wall space to display all the tapestries and the marquetry pictures made by my dad.
Recently Katharine decided to use some of the tapestries on cushion covers, and this is the latest to be used for that purpose.
It's a typical rural scene with a water mill. Once a common sight, these mills have over the years fallen out of use and in many cases into disuse. We have no idea where this mill is, but it is a pleasing colourful canvas.
i want to go there some day~ ! the real one I mean, though visiting the tapestry one could be an extra highlight! fortunately no need to leave the house to see the photo representation of the tapestry representation of the real thing!
@fullcircle - I agree about the use of water to generate power - there is a great example in the Yorkshire Dales where a derelict hydro electric plant beside a weir dating back to 1909 and abandoned in 1948 has recently had new turbines installed - a great small scale scheme which could be repeated beside many hundreds of weirs around the country.
This is a lovely work. Congrats to your wife and to you for the great photo.

Thank you Kd - they are quite long projects to complete
Thank you Tanja - Katharine loves craft work of many different kinds
Thank you Bruni - we now have several cushions with different scenes and themes, made from Katharine's tapestries.
