Heart of Yorkshire

340 - York Minster provides a never ending source of photographic opportunities, and this collage includes two shots of the 'Heart of Yorkshire' window. This is the upper part of the great west window.

The shot on the left is taken from outside the Minster, while the right hand shot was taken from inside the Minster during the Residents Festival a couple of weeks ago
Ian, is that the window that was repaired. Last time I was there (a couple of years ago) it was all under wraps while they restored it. Great colours from the inside.

Illustrates that perhaps these were meant to be viewed from inside. Great colours and stonework.

Thank you all for the great encouragement! On reflection I wish I'd waited for a more sunny day to highlight the structure of the stonework on the outside shot, and the inside shot could have been darkened a bit to highlight the contrast between the shots.

@isleofmanlandscapes - Colin, it would have been the east window that was being restored two years ago - and the work still has over 2 years still to go. There is a display inside the Minster of some of the restored glass before it is put back in its place. The window in this shot is part of the west window.
