One of the two Kelpies from the 30 metre high sculpture near Falkirk in Scotland. It’s so wet and miserable here today, so wet that I couldn’t get in to work after driving to Wrexham and another 2 hours to get home because of flooding. I decided to find some images from a brighter day. Taken 2 years ago on a lovey weekend in Scotland.
“ The Kelpies, are a monument to Scotland’s horse-powered industrial heritage.
A kelpie is a shape-changing aquatic spirit of Scottish legend. Its name may derive from the Scottish Gaelic words ‘cailpeach’ or ‘colpach’, meaning heifer or colt. Kelpies are said to haunt rivers and streams, usually in the shape of a horse. “
