Nib

Macro of a fountain pen nib. For any of you younger ones, we used to write on paper with these, and buy bottles of ink to fill them.…honest, it’s true…and spell check was done with a book, called a dictionary.
Lol. Times have changed. Now even ball point pens are becoming relics. Love the diagonal comp and the lighting.

Great comment and great macro. I’m surprised that you could take such a beautiful macro with an iPhone. Fav

@shutterbug49 thanks. I sit next to a 24 year old at work, and some of the things I talk about that we used to use, he can’t believe.

@caterina thanks Caterina, I use a clip on macro from a set of 3 that only cost £15, I only use the macro though. Made by Mpow.

I like this shot. I also remember the days of fountain pens. I still believe they produce better hand writing. Do you remember the blotter as well?

I remember them well, and the stick pens we had in school too.

@ethelperry I completely agree Ethel and they're much nicer to write with too. When I was still marking umpteen student assignments I preferred to use a fountain pen, more legible writing and less RSI.

We caught the tail-end of writing with an ink pen, but with an ink refill attached to the pen, not out of a bottle. Never quite got the hang of it, somehow I always managed to make ink blotches on my papers... I like all your interesting macro photos :)!

@lmsa thanks Louise.

@moonbi cheers Jason. Predictive text can be a pain, but spell check is good, I’ve always benn Bod at Spilling
