At the elementary school my daughter goes to, they had a contest to make a book character out of a pumpkin. She had to make Ivan (from the book the one and only Ivan by Katherine Applegate). In between many Fancy Nancy's, Cats in the Hat and Rainbow Fishes, he really stood out!
@laurielizard - I read it too! And although it was sad it has a good ending. This Ivan was good for a 3rd place and my daughter (obviously loving the book too) was recommending it to all her friends
