My son loves to play soccer. His dream is to be a professional striker. But because he is an awesome defender too, he has played defense until this season. Now he told the trainer and the coach that he would rather sit on the bench and be a substitute striker, than a defender. Fortunately they listened. Last week he sat on the bench for 20 minutes and when he was brought in he scored straight away. He earned his position! And played straight away in Saturday's game. In the first half they were behind 0-1, but then he scored 2 goals. A teammate got another goal and Demyan finished it off with his 3rd goal. 4-1! Way to go! I'm a proud mom! And happy I finally was able to make a decent photo - normally I get too excited to make a decent shot of him ;)

At the moment he is quite happy with himself and hoping to make the soccer Varsity Team as a freshman. I love the "no pass, no play"-rule (the coach checks grades too), because he is now also doing homework and keeping his grades up ;)
