I was invited to join a friend and her friends for another hike. She wanted to go to the "Saal stairs" or sometimes called Saal Steps.
On a mountain near a small village called Sa'al they have put around 700 (uneven) concrete steps. Some websites/blogs say "about 700 steps" others say 720.
It is just under 2km to the top - the first and last part do not have the steps and because it is only up you need to be reasonably fit to be able to do this. I have been fitter, but fortunately from our group of 5 I was not the worst...
In this photo I'm looking back as we just started the steps. About 20 steps were broken, but the rest of the way was OK.
We were too late to for the sunrise, but early enough to be able to do most of the climbing in the shade. When we started our descend there was no shadow at all anymore.
I am with @summerfield you I would have asked for a helicopter too.
