Winter Fruit by jamibann

Winter Fruit

I bought these very expensive, but delicious, lychees at the local fruit shop a few days back and thought that they'd make good 'fodder' for my light-box before I tucked into them. The texture of the fruit really pops when viewed on black.
Great texture .. and detail

Such a lovely image - they are so different when they are fresh - tinned ones are terrible!

Love fresh lychees. I never buy very many as I always want to just eat them all! They are a great subject for the light-box. Did you make your own light-box or did you purchase one?

Not often seen with the leaves attached. The pink and green contrast so well together

Nice capture and texture. I've never had lychees before

Wonderful I don't believe we have those here but maybe I just haven't noticed them.

Beautiful and very tasty

@dide yes, there's no comparison!

@salza I bought a very simple light box from Amazon. I must do some more experimenting with it.

@lesip Don't often see them here either. But I saw these fresh ones and was tempted. I love them! We used to get them so easily and cheaply when we lived out in the Far East.

@dridsdale I love thm, although they're quite tricky to eat. You have to skin them and eat them around the stone - or remove the stone with a knife. Gorgeous though.

@jamibann I have been thinking about making one using a cardboard box. There's some interesting tutorials on YouTube.

@salza probably a good idea. There's nothing to them. I guess the light, and placement of it, is the most important thing.

Lovely colours on the white

The red and green really do "pop" when viewed on the black. I have had these fruits a time or two, but never knew what they looked like.

This is wonderful

This could be a product placement for one of the farm stands. Perfectly lit and well composed.

Beautiful composition and lighting Issi!

Fabulous textures and colors! I made a light box when I first started my project...out of foam board, tissue paper, and white duct tape. I used it a lot and now have to replace the torn tissue paper. :-)

Against black you can almost feel every little bump on that fruit. Your lighting is wonderful.
