Sweet Gracie — my constant companion. I love that one of her favorite things to do in the sunroom is curl up with this chew toy on the soft rug beneath the coffee table. Curling up with it on this chair was a first. She looked so content that I couldn't bring myself to scoot her off; so I sat on the floor with my camera for a bit, grateful for the way she reminds me that life is meant to be savored. I can slow and be all the better for it.
Because of the dog’s joyfulness, our own is increased. It is no small gift. It is not the least reason why we should honor as well as love the dog of our own life, and the dog down the street, and all the dogs not yet born. What would the world be like without music or rivers or the green and tender grass? What would this world be like without dogs?
― Mary Oliver, American poet
We have a lot to learn from animals and the way the lead us to stop and stare, and of course be grateful. You have captured the softness of Gracie with a good contrasting colour of the upholstery.
