Whether grilling or eating, John enjoyed campfire cooking! When he manned the tongs, he treated us to two of his delicious specialties: breakfast sandwiches and hot sausage sandwiches; and our bellies couldn’t be more grateful. Off duty, he joined the rest of us preparing our own custom-made pizzas to pop onto the grill easy peasy. We all huddled around the campfire morning, noon and night; and I wondered. What is it about watching flames dance from an iron ring that soothes the soul? I didn't find the answer, but my soothed soul didn't care one bit.
