Thank you, Lord, for today's opportunity to tour the Kerr Memorial Museum.
Comissioned in 1897 by Dr. Thomas R. Kerr, a doctor in the small, nearby town of Oakmont, this Queen Anne-style home also housed Dr. Kerr's medical office. The only people to ever live in the home were Dr. Kerr, his wife, and their daughter; and the interior decor typifies middle class life between the years of 1890 and 1910. Mike and I couldn't be happier that we toured this charming museum today — it'd been on my list of must-sees for years!
@janeandcharlie Thank you for commenting! Unfortunately, interior photos were not permitted. The Kerrs’ daughter lived in the home all 90-some years of her life and didn’t do many updates, so the home retains much of its original charm. The last load of coal delivered to heat the home decades ago was still laying in the same spot. It was a wonderful tour and glimpse back in time!
