Thank you, Lord, for Northern Cardinals awaiting their turn at the feeder.
Another beautiful snowstorm (6” and still coming down!) is gracing us with its presence, sending many cold, hungry birds to the feeders for any easy-to-obtain meal.
Our steep, snow-covered hill and the slippery roads beyond have me staying in today, and I'm not complaining one bit. Today's birdwatching is unusual and exciting! In addition to our regular visitors, a Red-winged Blackbird, an American Robin, a European Starling, and three American Crows joined many Dark-eyed Juncos and White-throated Sparrows in the Winter wonderland out back.
The Blackbirds, Robins, Starlings, and Crows leave the area before the Juncos and Sparrows arrive in Autumn; but lucky for us, these birds return in late Winter before the Juncos and Sparrows leave in late Spring. With only a few weeks to view this delightful combination of birds, I'll take advantage of this snowy day by taking a seat next to a window with Marley curled up alongside and enjoy!
Such a lovely capture. Your snow seems relentless, we too got more and varied birds visiting our gardens when the snow arrived uncharacteristically these last few weeks. I hope you had much enjoyment from your 'at home' birdwatching.
