delivery day (right place, right time, wrong battery) by jantan

delivery day (right place, right time, wrong battery)

don't often say this but, deffo looks better viewed large if you CBA.

My husband was off work today so we went out this afternoon to look at sheds - because that's the kind of rock 'n roll lifestyle we lead!

We drove through the village of Hook Norton which is the home of our local brewery and were fortunate enough to come across this scene where beer is being delivered to one of the village pubs.

The brewery prides itself on using traditional methods and it still uses steam engines in the production of its beer. Lorries are used to deliver beer to the outlying villages including the one where we live, but the villages closest to the pub still receive their deliveries by shire horse.

I hopped out of the car to take grab some photos. My camera battery ran out after the second shot. Light levels were quite low and I was convinced that they were going to be blurry, so was very happy when I got home to to see that they weren't as bad as I was expecting.

The sheds were OK too....... zzzzzzzzzzzz

postscript:-

I put this shot on my facebook page and my Mum sent me a message to say that the live music that is being advertised on the blackboard on 27th October is in fact my niece, who is a singer. She lives about 30 miles away and I had no idea she was singing there. Spooky!!!
very cool shot!!!! glad it turned out wonderfully.. shame you couldn't get photos of the wonderful sheds.. :-0

This is just wonderful! If it wasn't for those modern cars it could be a scene from the victorian era!.....Brilliant capture! : )

What a brilliant composition! Isn't it frustrating when batteries run out - I now keep a spare with me but one day I didn't realise that the spare was waiting to be charged so like you I found it frustrating. I'm glad this came out so perfectly. They sell Hook Norton in our local real ale pub but that's delivered by lorry! Fav

What great timing. I remember when Bass still used horses for the local pubs. I bet thats all stopped. This looks like something John Constable might have painted :)
