So my suspicions yesterday evening have been confirmed and Sam had appendicitis.
After a terrible night we got to a&e at 10am. Had appendix removed and were installed on the children's ward by 2pm and demanding, of all things, prawn cocktail flavoured crisps by 3! I know the NHS has its critics but at the moment I am feeling very lucky (and knackered!)
Bless his heart! I went through a similar situation with my son when he was about that age. It was a false alarm, but we did have to stay in the hospital overnight to make sure. The best to you and Sam. Take care.
What a night you had buy so glad it wasn't worse & the good old NHS comes up trumps thank goodness! You will look at this photo one day & say '''do you remember.'' Off school until after Christmas now?
Oh dear, poor boy. I had an emergency appendectomy 20th December very nearly 15 years ago. I bet he already feels miles better than he did yesterday! I hope you get better soon Sam.
Prayers go out to Sam.
I too was at the hospital yesterday. I fainted during a U.S. History test. I pass out all of the time because I have something called Lyme Disease. I have Motor and Vocal tics, and when I get stressed out or even excited I start my tics and when they go on for awhile I get dizzy and pass out... But I'm still alive, I've had it for 4 years, so I'm used to it.
But prayers to Sam are being sent out for him to be healed.
@centermd thanks for your thoughts and wishes, it sounds like you have a lot to deal with, and you are obviously a very strong person. Hope you are feeling better after your fainting episode.
PS You're right about the NHS - with all the talk about 'benefits' we should remember that we all get free health and education if we want it - something which is very rare in the world.
