fragile handle with care by jantan

fragile handle with care

Well, exactly 24 hours after arriving at A&E Sam was discharged after having his appendix removed.

He is extremely uncomfortable and hobbling around like an old man so definitely needs handling with care. I hope to do a better job than Parcelforce did with this box which was delivered while we were away.

I am very grateful to the staff at the hospital, they were wonderful. Also to my good friends who have all stepped into the breach to help out with school lifts etc for my other son, brought round cards and gifts (don't think we will be buying prawn cocktail crisps for a while!) and my husband who stayed off work and kept the show on the road with the animals and other stuff here and at the hospital. I am very lucky.

Thanks so much for all your good wishes yesterday too. Sam really appreciated them and they kept me amused during a very sleepless night.

I hope your parcel made it through ok as well...

24 hours is very short! You have to now be the nurse! We had a parcel like this and took photos! Fragile doesn't mean anything!

Well wishes are being sent to Sam...and I agree with you, hopefully he does better than the package. I like the tie in though.

@maggiemae I know it is very short isn't it. They were quite amazed at how quickly he recovered. I think that the anaesthetists must be the ones most responsible for that because he didn't seem to have any after effects of that. So glad to be home, because at least we should be able to get some sleep tonight.

Blimey good old parcelforce.......can't they read?!! How lovely to have sam home lots of TLC and he's safe, always a worry anaesthetic, parcel looks a mess!!

They soon chuck them out these days but I expect Sam was very pleased to get home & easier on family not having to be at the hospital. Love your analogy with the parcel!

So glad Sam is home for the whole families' sake.

Lol! Looks like our postal service had a hand at it! Hope Sam feels better soon!

Don't you just love Royal Mail's 'care' approach ...

It's great to here that Sam is home. It should all be a distant memory by Christmas, and of course, he will have a war wound to tell the local ladies about:) nice shot to go with your commentary.

Glad he's out, back and OK ... and presumably was not returned out in a carboard box!

Hmmm - looks like the disintegrating soggy box we got delivered - the courier said 'Well it's been raining'. 24 hours is amazing - I'm sure it used to be 2 weeks - still you don't want to catch anything!
