Lovely Jan. Beautiful colours. I still havn't finished my marmalade. All ready to boil up but by 9pm I just did not have the strength. Each orange lovingly washed, squeezed, de-piffed and cut into tiny shreds - 5lb whole pounds of them and a hefty 10lb sugar. I will continue tomorrow when I can face them again. Good luck :)
@streetlyend It's one of those jobs that when I am about half way through I wish I hadn't ever started but there is no going back. I think that that is why I am putting it off. The results are worth it tho.
I use a recipe from the Aga Book. You don't squeeze the oranges, you just simmer them then scoop out the pith and flesh. Sounds a bit easier than yours. I do make it quite coarse too.
@happypat Every year I vow not to leave it til the last minute. It's not even my return, it's my husband's and guess what he does for a living? Yes, tax!
@fannyb Bet your b&b'ers love the home made marmalade Fanny. Started mine at 6am, currently softening the fruit in the aga - it's going to be a loooong day..... might need a glass of wine or two this evening.
