design fault? (or, guess who lost the snowball fight)
Got a bit of a sheepy theme going on at the moment.
More snow today, tho fortunately the roads weren't too bad by the time we got out and about. There was however a snow plough in a ditch on the edge of the village which caused a bit of a stir. Now, I would have thought that of all the things you could be driving in the snow, a snow plough would have been the safest.
Sam was off school today with a chesty, throaty, slight temperaturey thing. He has missed so much school this year with his appendicitis and snow days which is a bit of a worry.
After Saturday's 3am bedtime I had been looking forward to an early night and a good night's kip last night but the dog had other ideas. She woke us all up three times between midnight and 1am. When we went down to investigate she was he was barking ferociously at a fox which was 5 feet away from her on the other side of the glass doors in the kitchen. It didn't seem remotely bothered about her presence, but as soon as we opened the door to let her out to chase it off, it was off like a shot. Off we went back to bed and fifteen minutes later the whole procedure was repeated, and again fifteen minutes later. I didn't get to sleep until after 2am in the end and then was up at 6.30. Knackered today.
I spotted this sheep just outside our village on the way back from collecting Angus from his bus stop. As soon as I dropped him off at home I got my camera and went back to take some pictures. It was getting a bit dark by then so the picture is a bit grainy. The poor sheep were having to burrow their way through the snow to get to the grass. Must admit I was feeling rather sorry for it until I saw this evening's TV programme about penguins - now, those guys know what bad weather really is.
don't know if you have them in the UK, but this looks like it should be part of a budweiser commercial..... brings to mind the "naked" sheep streaking a few years back. I love it, but poor sheep!
Fav for me too - he's fab! Monty's worst ever bark fest was for a Muntjac deer on the patio. And did he settle down once it had gone? Bummer on the illness - we had a couple of years like that - just incessant. Caught up eventually but frustrating.
Fabulous capture, but it has to be rather annoying for the sheep. Those snow balls are even impeding his line of sight. Poor critter will be very happy when the weather warms up enough to melt that facial snow drift.
Great shot!
this sheep is a good sport
