This was taken through the glass doors in our kitchen, so could be sharper - even tho I did actually get round to cleaning them last week. When I was at the Focus on Imaging show last week I bought a remote viewfinder for my camera, so hope to try the same sort of shot with my camera on a tripod outside and me sitting indoors looking at what is going on. Just need to find time to work out how to use the thing now but it will be interesting to see the difference the glass makes.
Arctic conditions today. Just heard on the news that it has been the coldest March day for nearly 30 years. Our friends left this morning and the day was spent (slowly!) finishing off cleaning up after yesterday's revelries, and catching up with absolute mountains of washing that seem to have accumulated from nowhere.
Graham had the day off and spent most of the day helping a friend of ours to transfer compost from our muck heaps to his allotment. It never ceases to amaze me how much he loves working outside even in -1C conditions with a wind chill factor making it feel like -6C, so long as there is someone else doing it with him. I suppose it has a lot to do with the fact that it is such a complete contrast to his normal working life.
3 good things:
Leftovers for tea - so no cooking!
Just watched the second episode of 'Broadchurch' - enjoying it so far - so rarely anything worth watching these days
Most of the washing is done
TBBTB- The pheasant seems to have taken up permanent residence in our garden and is getting bolder by the day
Look at you and all your Goldfinches, mine have disappeared :-) get loads of Blue Tits and a couple of Robins and that's about it.... remotes are good fun :-)
Very 'charming'! It's funny how you always enjoy what you can't do. I used to come home from the lab, get the kids to bed, make the dinner and then start in the garden. Now I have loads of time for the garden I can't be bothered (force myself now and again). Nigel does quite often feel the need to mow the lawn rather than sit in his office though! Blooming freeing - I've had enough!
@markyl Now I don't want to brag Mark, but I reckon your must have come up here. There were nearly 30 of them on and under the feeder at one time this morning. Is it the remote viewfinder that you have got. I am really looking forward to using it for taking macros so I don't have to lie on the floor to focus on things that are low to the ground.
@judithg I know what you mean - the cold today has been such a downer
lol :-) not a viewfinder just a remote, it sits on top of the camera in the hot shoe and then i have a remote that triggers it, the range is fantastic though, i can set it up at one end of the garden and then go back inside for a cuppa and wait! :-) good fun :-)
Superb bird action shot! Love your daily diary entries... although for me playing catch up (as usual!!) but make interesting reading and love the humor thrown in..... Another Broadchurch fan... making really gripping viewing... which is unusual for me as never a great deal on to watch ... trying to work out "who done it" do have my theories but may be totally wrong... lol!!! ♥
