keep your eyes open

Another shot from yesterday. I was thinking that it might be nice to have the mallard in focus and the narrow boat in the background. It was only when I knelt down to take the shot that I noticed the ducklings on the tyre. My Mum and I took a walk along the canal yesterday looking for potential shots for her village's calendar. A lady wearing all the gear and riding a very smart looking mountain bike passed us with a cheery 'Good Morning.' Fifteen minutes later she passed us again and remarked that she was a bit damper than last time we saw her. She had hit a stone and ended up in the canal. Poor thing, that water is disgusting.

Posting early(ish) today MUST MUST MUST find the enthusiasm to transform myself into a domestic goddess and get my increasingly skank-ridden house cleaned up before my parents come to stay this weekend when Graham and I go away.
A great decision to focus - the wee ducklings are a treasure in this photo!

Look at her little brood asleep on the tyre, gorgeous. So funny about the wet lady, if you had seen it happen would you have saved her or got your camera out??

Great waterside shot - three good things! I hope you found your skank busting mojo. Mine's been awol for rather longer than would be ideal.

Oooh cute duck family. Hope you got some calendar shots! The bathroom shenanigans have rather adversely affected the rest of the house - just waiting up for return of boy from party near Cardiff. He just said (on the phone) that it was a bit stressful for the young hostess due to lots of drunken teenagers in the new house which can only be described as a stately home. So I said (hopefully), 'You were sober then?' and he said, 'Oh no I was drunk but can handle myself.' In his opinion.....

Very nice photo of the cute duck family and passing boat. But, you are right ... the water does not look that inviting!
