the past and the future by jantan

the past and the future

I have to confess that I am not really a lover of autumn. Mainly because it gives you signs that winter is not far off, and I really hate winter. Always have done.

I noticed the light shining through these brambles and like the way that the fading leaves and dead fruits contrast with the winter wheat which is beginning to grow in the background.

Had fun at art group last night. The current block of sessions we are doing is called 'in a circle.' Last night we were doodling in circles - so soothing, I reckon I could doodle all day.......if only I had time.......
Very nice composition with the curving brambles and squiggly branches in the foreground! Beautiful soft light shining through them!
I know what you mean by time - it is in short supply here as well. Time is more precious than money!

This is lovely. Brambles are a delightful part of autumn - even if it's not your favourite season.

I'm glad you make the time to go to your art group.....we all need a change from our routine day. I like your idea here of the changing seasons & the difference they bring...winter is hard work when you are looking after stock!

Just think of winter as snowy photo opportunities and warm fires. This is a great composition of what has been and what is to come. Very clever

@craftymeg Funnily enough I only learned the word zentangle today when looking for ideas on Pinterest. It certainly is very soothing

Not a lover of winter either, lovely shot btw, a good capture of light and colour in the leaves.

What is zentangle? I know what you mean about winter. I don't think I am meant to live in the British climate.

Love your POV in this photo and how you've elegantly captured the beauty of your natural surroundings! A fav for me, Jan!

My feelings about autumn exactly - I try but I prefer spring. Adam had his first life drawing class tonight. He wasn't really expecting an attractive young woman but came home relieved that he hadn't inadvertently giggled. He said the worst thing if you're modelling must be people grinning and as soon as he thought that he knew he was at risk! Probably be the old fat bloke they usually have next week - more relaxing!
