Last night I found myself rushing outside in the cold and dark to supervise Graham when he was getting in a basket of logs for the fire. This was so I could make sure that he didn't take the logs that I have been hoarding because they have got toadstools growing on them. Bizarre behaviour, I know.
So, in the interests of ongoing marital harmony I thought I ought to take a few pics of them before they get burned in error.
I don't often sleep very well, and last night was no exception so at about 3am I went up to our attic bedroom so I could read and hopefully drop off to sleep. Graham was up early because he was being picked up at 6am to be taken to Heathrow for his flight to India.
I got up at 5.45 to say Goodbye, just as he was walking out of our room. I don't think he had been expecting to see me and he said 'Oh, 'Mummy Cat' has just thrown up and I haven't got time to clear it up. She's done it on your side of the bed but you can just get in my side and get a bit more sleep then clear it up later - sorry.' Oh yeah, like I am really going to get back into bed for half an hour knowing there is a steaming pile of cat vom about six feet away.
A great start to the day!
Both boys off sick today. Nothing tangible, just 'feeling sick' - one of them I think was pretty genuine, the other, who will remain nameless I strongly suspect was jumping on the 'well she can't say outright that she doesn't believe me if she believes him, so I might as well have a day off too.' bandwagon.
The cat wasn't swinging the lead tho. I cleared the second lot of puke up at about 11am.
Fav for me! Gorgeous. I walk past a cat sick stain on the landing carpet every morning when I get up. It was one of those where you aren't sure which end. Adam has a cold and says that everybody with tonsils has tonsillitis (including one girl who is still on half days after a month). You can guarantee if you make them go in they'll throw up in assembly...
Ooh and India? Nigel is off to Japan for a week in December - quite jealous of these trips. When the kids have both left I've told him I'm going with him - though I haven't heard him agree yet.
Not the best start to the day then Jan !! I hope the day got better as it got on . A super capture of the gills of these fresh looking fungi ( hope you didn.t feed them to the boys & cat !! haha
I had a malingerer here on the sofa today. Actually she was sick, she was nearer to the loo but decided to rummage around the cupboard for a Tupperware box instead. Still I have to be thankful that it was contained and not in my bed! Cat sick is particularly unpleasant especially after a mouse meal. Love the idea of you protecting your mushrooms, good job these are magnificent and deserves a big fav. Hope the boys feel better soon and your bed is now clean and dry!
This is a fabulous shot Jan and a Fav. Hopefully, getting these Fav's will make up for the rotten start you had to the day. I don't sleep very well either but I have to admit I've slept better since we decided to sleep in separate bedrooms. I get in with Steve in the morning when I go downstairs to collect Bas and take coffee back to bed. I think I sleep better knowing that if I need to lay and read, I won't wake Steve and his snoring doesn't keep me awake so much either.
Sounds like they have all been eating the same supper! Harry gets up at 6am to walk to the newsagents for the milk & morning paper but occasionally either the dog or the cat has been sick on the kitchen floor he will come upstairs & say ''mind when you go downstairs there is sick on the floor''....says he hasn't time to cleat it up till he gets back!! Who on earth can go for a walk & leave sick on the floor!!!!
I turn over & go back to sleep!!
A big fave Jan.
This is the most beautiful mushroom capture I've ever seen -- I love the clarity, the color, the arrangement, Definite fav -- and also on the trending page. Sorry about the cat barf -- mine have been treating me regularly -- chairs, rugs, bed -- nothing is off limits except the easy to clean wood floor!
I turn over & go back to sleep!!
A big fave Jan.
eheheh - well at least you didn't step in it!
