For the past few years I have made the New Year resolution that I am going to learn more about flash photography. I am often asked to photograph people and events and find myself declining because I don't really understand flash.
Recently, I finally got round to going on a speedlight course. It was exactly what I needed, and I think that I have almost got my head around the basic principles. This shot was taken in broad daylight, but set up to look light night time. If anyone in the UK is interested, it was run by Jessops, and I would really recommend it.
Lovely portrait - well done! I don't really understand flash either but recently picked up a couple of useful tips at our photography group. (Still prefer daylight shooting!)
