We get quite a few grass snakes in our garden because they lay their eggs and hibernate over winter in our muck heaps. Angus called me out to see this one which was sunning itself. Beautiful day today.
Superb capture Jan..... I know we have grass snakes around where I live as so many of my neighbours have seen them... but in the thirty plus years I have lived here and walked the surrounding fields I have never come across one.... I would really love to.... This is a magnificent shot and a fav for me ♥
Wonderful capture...even got his tongue flicking out (not an easy task!)...he is very similar to our garter snakes, and I like that he is sunning himself on the lily pads! fav
Great shot. Brave to get close to it. In Aus most of our animals are poisonious / deadly & seeing a snake in my yard would've made me walk on water - lol
